Outline of educational activities

The Fukuzawa Memorial Center for Modern Japanese Studies hosts talks, lectures, exhibitions, etc., based on research outcomes.

 

Established courses of the Center

Lectures such as the following are offered to students currently enrolled at a Keio University faculty or graduate school: 
Mita Campus: Study of Modern Japan Ⅰ-Ⅳ, Seminar of Modern Japanese Studies Ⅰ, Ⅱ 
Hiyoshi Campus: Modern Japan and Fukuzawa Yukichi Ⅰ, Ⅱ 
Correspondence Courses: Modern Japan and Fukuzawa Yukichi (e-schooling) 

 

Workshops 

We also hold workshops on modern Japan centered on lectures and presentations by researchers for undergraduates, graduates, and postdocs.
Joint workshops are also held with overseas universities we have departmental partnership agreements with, such as the Ewha Institute of History at Ewha Womans University, South Korea.

 

Lectures

We invite researchers from home and abroad to give lectures aimed at a wide range of the general public.
We also run lecture series at the Keio Osaka City Campus. Anyone can participate, but advance reservation is necessary.
